What would you change about sport?

Creatively capturing young people’s ideas how physical activity could improve
OVERVIEW
Ten years on from the 2012 London Olympics, Street Games and London Youth, in partnership The Jack Petchey Foundation, joined forces to celebrate a Summer of Sport Festival for young people.
Taking over the Copper Box Arena in the Olympic Park, transforming into a hub of community sports for a day, with over 25 sports and activities on offer for 1,000+ young Londoners to get active.
CHALLENGE
We were asked to produce a creative activity for young people to take part in, centred around youth voice and sport.
WHAT WE DID
Coaches Corner member Toby (16) led the creative development for the Summer of Sport Festival, being particularly interested in actually challenging the impact of the 2012 London Olympics for young people, both now and for the future.
Our concept, ‘What would you change about sport?’ challenged young people to creatively think about ideas that would improve physical activity for them.
We partnered up with the super talented graphic artist Andrew Hudson who brought to life young people’s ideas live during the day, on a very (very) large mural.
Coaches Corner member Sylvio (15) also helped out during the festival, explaining the creative challenge to young people, guiding them with their ideas and of course he had the chance to try out all the other sports and activities happening. 😊
