Swimsuit Design Workshop
- Fundamentals
Inspiring girls to be body confident using creativity (and a lot of paint!)
OVERVIEW
The National Saturday Club gives 13-16 year olds across the UK the opportunity to take part in creative learning programmes at their local university, college or cultural institution, on Saturday mornings for free.
Spanning the subjects of Art & Design, Craft & Making, Fashion & Business, Film & Media, Science & Engineering, Society & Change and Writing & Talking.
CHALLENGE
To deliver a 1x day workshop in Brighton inspiring young girls to rethink how the design of a swimsuit can help improve their body confidence and resilience when swimming. In partnership with Katie Greenyer.
WHAT WE DID
Covering an entire room in white paper, boiler suits, Speedo swim caps and setting the creative challenge for the girls, to design sea-inspired swimsuits, using only shades of blue paint.
Delivering an ‘Our classroom’, not ‘League Leaders classroom’ creative training and education experience, where all of the girls presented their ideas during the workshop, improving their communication skills and confidence.
