The youth co-created card game helping families and young people be active (may contain fun)

OVERVIEW

We worked with Simon Balle All-through School in Hertford and 6x very talented students, Bailey, Billy, Dan, Fynn, Loui and Ross, alongside their teacher Mr. Andrews.

The boys had identified childhood obesity as a problem local to the school’s area and they were tasked to come up with a solution for this.

CHALLENGE

To co-create with the boys to develop their prototype solution, a card game based on ‘Snap’ – that has an active twist.

Each round when two of the same HIIT exercise cards are put down, the players who don’t shout snap first, have to perform the exercise shown on the card, such as star jumps, shadow boxing and plank.

WHAT WE DID

Following initial design and prototype completion including developing the game mechanics by introducing an ‘Everyone Crazy Dance’ card, Mr. Andrews and us pitched the concept to international toy brand Tomy who snapped up the idea to commercially release the game.
